"The generator issue was resolved. Take off $400,000 from the above figure and add for escalating costs since the 2008 figures above."

""City of Opportunity. Community of Choice." Or? The US Census Bureau divulged the fact we live in the incorporated area of King County with the lowest family income, and Sea Tac is next to the bottom. We can do better. It is time to stop…"

"I agree with Mr. Tyson. Apathy is easy. It is difficult to stand up against the status quo. But this is what must be done if we want to have Tukwila reflect the citizens' vision. I do not simply believe that "city staff is doing their best…"

Rice Fergus Miller, City of Tukwila Architectural Assessment

Page 23/28, 2008...8.1 City Hall A. "Architecturally the plan for the building is developed at a 45 degree angle off orthogonal. While visually interesting, it inherently makes space planning for rooms and open office workstation difficult. Although building code analysis indicates the structure could be expanded, the architectural style and site constraints limit possibilities for any future expansion."This neighbors, is a 2008 evaluation from the same firm that wants the City in 2015 to…See More

A Lovely Book: A Higher Call

Not long ago in a casual conversation with a friend, I mentioned that I could not imagine how it must have felt as soldier in WWII and to have one's life at risk. She loaned me a book entitled: A Higher Call: An Incredible True Story of Combat and Chivalry in the War-Torn Skies of World War II. The author is Adam Makos with Larry Alexander.Great book...written in a story telling fashion. The book centers on the experiences of a particular American and German pilot whose paths did cross during…See More

"Looking at the first sentence, I see we disagree. Its my position that what happens in Tukwila is the consequence of citizen action or inaction. Citizens elect the officials. A poor choice would be reflected in poor City decisions. Such a…"

"I was asked what 10% of all proceeds means. Here is how I understand it. If you spend the retail price of $10 on an appetizer, you would close out your bill by paying Buffalo Wild Wings the $10 (+whatever sales tax). BWW then donates 10% of that $10…"

When all is said and done, Tukwila staff, process is good

http://www.tukwilareporter.com/opinion/289368091.htmlSome believe that the responsibility for what happens in Tukwila lays at the feet of its citizens. In a representative democracy, we are responsible for whom we elect. However, we are not responsible for all decisions made by council and mayor. The evidence is clear from low participation levels that residents do expect elected officials to look after their best interests. It…See More
