Voices of Burien Writing Opportunity for Teens

Hello,

Please spread the word of this exciting new writing group being formed over in Burien. Link to the B-Town Blog is http://b-townblog.com/2013/03/04/poetrywriting-program-for-13-19-ye...

"No parents allowed. No judgment, say whatever you want/feel! This will be for Poets, Potential authors, Songwriters ANYBODY with a pencil, paper and a story to tell!" Tukwila youth are invited.

Date has changed since the story ran, and will start this Friday at the Burien Library. Voices of Burien FB page has the details. Middle and High School parents and teachers, if you could share this with your groups, that would be great.

Thanks,

Sarah

This is really excellent and thanks to Sarah for posting it. Writing serves the writer in any number of possible ways. For me, it is a tool to help me to distill or clarify how I feel or what I think about a particular issue or circumstance. It helps me to spot the deficiencies or holes in my thought process. It also helps me to maintain an certain cohesiveness and integrity to the thought process. While I do not write poetry, I am amazed when I read something that catches my breath....just..penetrates, resonates, touches my heart in a way that I cannot seem to do for myself.
